What made you want to be a wedding planner?
I had spent close to a decade working in television and after producing The Bachelor:Trista and Ryan’s Wedding for ABC I realized that my passion for creating and participating in the most important moments of others lives was something I was meant to do. There’s a feeling I get when everything comes together and the families I’ve been working with our able to truly be present during their celebration and not have to stress about the details.
I was born into a large family that had celebrations all the time. After watching my mom entertain for years, between non-profit galas and community service events, I felt that it was in my blood and it was something I was born to do.
Describe the most challenging wedding you planned and how you handled the problems that came up.
We find that all events come with challenges some larger than others. However the biggest challenge we’ve faced is working with vendors who we’re unfamiliar with. Each vendor’s work ethic varies and they don’t always share the same level of communication. We have found that sitting down months prior to the event with both vendors and clients lends to a healthy collaboration and overall flawless event.
How would you rate your problem-solving skills?
When planning events we sit down and look at all details involved with an understanding that from time to time there could be a hiccup. From years of experience we come prepared to solve any problems that may arise. We pride ourselves on how quickly we think on our toes and how resourceful we’ve become.
How would you rate your communication skills?
If there’s one thing we excel at it’s communication. From day one, we build a relationship with our clients where they can share their vision, desires and fears that go along with planning an event. We are in constant contact with our clients throughout the entire event planning process so that every detail they’ve imagined is executed to their specificity.
How many wedding clients do you take on in a year? How many do you expect to have during the month of our wedding?
We don’t have a set number of clients we take in a year. We do however only book one client per day. We also never double book ourselves on any given day throughout the year. The day we have been retained for by a client is solely for that client so that we can give it the attention it deserves.
Is wedding planning your full-time job? If it’s part-time, what is your other job?
Event planning is our full time job.
Will you be present at all the vendor meetings and will you assist us in reviewing all of the vendor contracts and make sure everything is in order?
Depending on which event package you choose; Partial and/or Full service planning packages do come with this option, however, Day of Coordination does not.
For the vendors who will be on site the day of our wedding, can I provide you with checks for final payment that you will distribute to them?
Absolutely! This is one of the services we provide.
If issues arise with the vendors, before, during or after our wedding, will you handle them or are we responsible for this?
If the vendor was recommended by Kabe Magnolia, then we will oversee any issues before, during and after the wedding. Outside vendors you secure can only be overseen prior and during your event.
Will you be the person on site the day of our wedding or will it be another planner? How many assistants do you have?
All packages come with two full time planners.
What time will you arrive and depart on the day of our wedding?
We arrive at load in time facilitated by the venue and do not wrap until we strike the event.
How many meetings and phone calls are included in our package?
All packages come with unlimited phone/email contact.
Once we book with you, how quickly can we expect to receive the contract?
Once you book with us, you will receive the contract within 2 business days.
